เปิดบทใหม่ของการขุดค้นฟอสซิลไดโนเสาร์ ณ หุบเขาภูเวียง (หลังจากรอคอยมา 30 ปี) อุทยานธรณีขอนแก่น โดยนายสุธรรม วงษ์จันทร์ หัวหน้าอุทยานแห่งชาติภูเวียง (ในฐานะรอง ผอ.อุทยานธรณีขอนแก่น) และว่าที่ รต.กฤษณะ สุดชา นักธรณีวิทยา ได้จัดทำโครงการขุดค้นและศึกษาวิจัยฟอสซิลไดโนเสาร์ ณ หลุมขุดค้นที่ 3 อุทยานแห่งชาติภูเวียง

         ในการนี้ได้รับเกียรติจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญผู้เป็นตำนานการขุดค้นไดโนเสาร์ของประเทศไทย ดร.วราวุธ สุธีธร เป็นหัวหน้าทีมขุดค้น พร้อมด้วย Dr.Haiyan Tong , ดร.สุรเวช สุธีธร , ดร.อดุลย์ สมาธิ และทีมขุดค้นจากหน่วยวิจัยไดโนเสาร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม  ได้เข้าพื้นที่ประชุมวางแผนการดำเนินงานและเริ่มดำเนินการขุดค้นฟอสซิลในหลุมขุดค้นไดโนเสาร์ที่ 3 (Fossil Site #3) อุทยานแห่งชาติภูเวียง  ซึ่งเป็นกระดูกไดโนเสาร์ชนิดซอโรพอด จากการสังเกตุเบื้องต้น พบว่าต่างจากไดโนเสาร์ที่มีอยู่เดิม ซึ่งการขุดค้นในครั้งนี้จะนำไปสู่การศึกษาวิจัยว่าเป็นไดโนเสาร์ชนิดใด ซึ่งจะเป็นไดโนเสาร์สายพันธุ์ใหม่ของโลกหรือไม่? โปรดติดตามความคืบหน้าต่อไป

Opening a new chapter in the excavation of dinosaur fossils at Phu Wiang Valley.           In this event, we were honored by the legendary expert in dinosaur excavation of Thailand, Dr. Warawut Sutheethon, as the leader of the excavation team, along with Dr. Haiyan Tong, Dr. Surawet Sutheethon, Dr. Adul Samathi and the team. Excavated from the Dinosaur Research Unit Mahasarakham University Entered the meeting area to plan operations and begin excavating fossils in Dinosaur Excavation Pit No. 3 (Fossil Site #3), Phu Wiang National Park. which is a sauropod dinosaur bone From preliminary observation Found that it was different from existing dinosaurs.
