จากมติที่ประชุมคณะกรรมการอำนวยการอุทยานธรณีขอนแก่น ครั้งที่ 1/2561 ในวันอังคารที่ 8 พฤษภาคม 2561  ณ หอประชุมองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดขอนแก่น  ได้พิจารณาและสรุปขอบเขตอุทยานธรณีขอนแก่น ดังนี้

เขตอุทยานธรณีขอนแก่น  ได้แก่ แนวเขตอุทยานแห่งชาติภูเวียง  พร้อมกับพื้นที่ อ.เวียงเก่า และ อ.ภูเวียง  จ.ขอนแก่น  รวมพื้นที่ประมาณ 1,038 ตร.กม.

Khon Kaen Geopark area, including the boundary of Phu Wiang National Park Along with the area of Wiang Kao District and Phu Wiang District, Khon Kaen Province, a total area of approximately 1,038 square kilometers.
